I had my first work onsite at Portsmouth, NH! It was super fun and I got to see a lot of my colleagues in person for the first time.
Dance
I have a fun riddle, generated from Perplexity AI to see if you can guess the songs that I’ve been practicing. I have filming next week so I’ll definitely need to lock in for the next few practices!
This week with MODU Dance Crew has been intense in the best way. Every practice blurs between play and tension—someone pushing my buttons, someone keeping the fire lit in theirs. Between the heat and the chill, it’s like learning how to move through a bruise that never quite heals, yet somehow, that’s what keeps it beautiful.
Eating Out/Cooking
I’ve been cooking in batches recently. I made tonkatsu a few weeks ago and froze them into portions. I felt that my meals were getting boring, so I went grocery shopping and bought some more veggies to add some color to my meals 🙂 I made cabbage salad/coleslaw for my tonkatsu and it elevated my tonkatsu eating experience so much!
I also recently finished the turkey meatballs I batch cooked a month ago, so I made another batch and froze them. Now I have an easy source of protein to toss into my pastas without worrying about the meat going bad in the fridge.
Hojicha Adventure 2.0
I tried to resist the temptation to buy drinks while I was out, but when I stumbled upon a Japanese café selling Hojicha Lattes, I couldn’t help myself. I’d give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars—it tasted a bit watered (or milked) down and lacked that distinct hojicha flavor. Next time, I might just buy the powder and try making it myself.
Tutoring
Just when I thought tutoring was going well, I encountered my first unfinished lesson due to some behavior issues… I hope that it gets resolved soon. I was just about to enjoy tutoring…
Gaming
I recently came across a rhythm game I used to play in high school, Superstar JYP. I started playing again and have probably been playing a bit too much 😉 but I’ve been having a lot of fun playing it and listening/playing to old Twice and Itzy songs I used to listen to frequently.
New Hampshire
I thought I’d have more to talk about for after work events but surprise or no surprise, there’s nothing… I walked around with my colleagues after work and we came across some fun small businesses and I even got a fun bath bomb. Besides that, there really wasn’t any time to explore Portsmouth.
Time to travel again! I’ll be skipping next week for the blog since I’ll be busy seeing some friends, but I’ll have a Week 17 & 18 blog the weekend before Thanksgiving! Oh my… time flies…
