Week 11: Life of a Software but 5-9

Fall is approaching and I have so many fun plans coming up!!
Work has been good as per usual, and surprisingly moving faster than the planned timeline 🙂 So grateful for my team~

Dance

No dance update this week… But I am auditioning for a dance crew so how that goes will be on the next blog :0

Friends/Coworker

Most of this week was pretty rainy and gloomy so not much has happened this week socially…

However, I did get to attend my first in-person Lehigh Alumni Event! I met so many incredible alumni and got to share a bit of new news about the campus. It’s always fun talking to people with a shared background. Special shoutout to Christine featuring delicious lobster rolls for hosting the event!

Eating Out/Cooking?

Bap Bistro is a Korean Restaurant and it was pretty good. The server was really nice. Only issue was the taste wasn’t authentic enough for me so 3.5/5. Serving size is a 5/5 tho.

Unfortunately, my fridge is broken so I’ve been going a week on frozen food meals so cooking is a bit lack luster this week. I also got food poisoning on Tuesday so yeah… Rough cooking week :/

Coding

I’ve been picking up some new skills such as learning to parse a PDF w/ Typescript. I learned via vibe coding w/ Copilot and am working on a personal finance website for myself.

Essentially, I’m creating a website where I can upload a credit card statements and have it auto categorize the spendings and calculate how much I’ve spent. Since I have multiple cards, it’s gotten more difficult to manage my spendings…

I’m aware that apps already exist for this, but I don’t want to pay for their subscription or premium version which is why I’m coding it and also taking it as a learning opportunity for myself.

Tutoring

I finished my first week of tutoring. I don’t have tutoring next week so it’ll be more relaxing~

Next week, I’ll be auditioning for a new dance crew and meeting some more alumni at my company so I’m excited to share how that goes!
