Week 7: Life of a Software Engineer but 5-9

For the past several blogs, the images were from pexels, but finally, it’s a photo I took haha.

This week was great at work! Accomplished lots and am moving forward with implementation! So exciting~

Dance

Dance this week got canceled unfortunately… But, I got many sessions booked and ready to go for the month of September, so I’m super excited!!

Friends

This past week and next week is remote work weeks for me, so it’s been great being able to take advantage of that to see friends and travel.

I went to NYC to see my friends and ended up going to Jersey as well! And then, came back to PA to see college friends. Crazy to think I was in 4 states in one day… 26k steps in one day is not for the weak… Would probably never or rarely happen in the west coast.

Eating Out!

I think I’ve hit 4/5 of the Boston El Jefe’s location so far… I will say, the one near Symphony stop was a dissappointment just because they charged extra for lettuce… My go to chain is El Jefe’s for the reason that they don’t charge extra for toppings, and that reason was gone, at least to continue going to that location. Taste wise tho, beats Chiptole everytime.

In NYC, I tried a secret dumpling place in Chinatown. I can’t give this one away since the prices be increasing at a scary pace when restaurants go viral…

Apartment Hunting

If I could set a record time for quickest time to apartment hunt -> tour -> apply -> sign a lease, I’m so up for the challenge haha. The night I ended my lease early, I scoured the entire internet for short-term housing and booked 2 tours for the next day. Went to the tours and chose the first apartment I saw. I scheduled two others, but the first place was the one I wanted in terms of shorter commute time and close proximity to my go-to dance studio and grocery stores.

Tutoring

I’ll begin tutoring for Teach for America Ignite Fellowship again in a few weeks so I’ve just been doing some training after work hours. I’m so excited to start tutoring again! Education equity being my side passion is being fulfilled in ways like tutoring 🙂

This next week will be an exciting week since I’m surrounded by not my coworkers haha (I love my coworkers don’t get me wrong, but college friends hit different), so look forward to my next blog post on September 6th!
