Transferring Content

Today, I was tasked to transfer a site’s content to a different site.

In short, an office was moving to a different department so my job is to just move everything from one site to another.

Sounds a bit boring right? But let me walkthrough the process as I’m doing it.

I’m working with Drupal7, and both sites are on Drupal7 so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

This is what it’s looking like right now (landing page):

businessservices.lehigh.edu
financeadmin.lehigh.edu

As you can see, there’s several content sections in the businessservices.lehigh.edu site but no content types in the financeadmin.lehigh.edu. My goal is to move all these content types to the financeadmin.lehigh.edu site.

After about 15 minutes, I have successfully transferred all the content sections for this specific page.

Now, to make sure only certain people can manage this page, I need to link this page to a group. Doing this, only a certain group will be able to manage the page.

A good few minutes later, I come to encounter this error…

I asked my boss if there was any way to save it… Unfortunately, I am having to do this all over again. It’s not a technical task if it doesn’t work on the first try 🥲.
